• Charnwood Arts artist Alison Johnsons solo exhibition Kaleidoscope Of Animals is now on show at Charnwood Museum Café

Alison has been attending Charnwood Arts MakeSpace group and its sister group RawArt for several years on a weekly basis.

She has used the illustrations of the children’s book illustrator Brian Wildsmith as the influence for her artwork.

Alison has reinterpreted the illustrations and produced new work using different materials.

She uses various techniques and materials in her work, favouring textiles and drawing with oil pastels and felt-tips  and painting.

The RawArt project supports adults with long term and enduring mental health illness to achieve creative projects.

The MakeSpace step-up project supports artists and makers to exhibit their work and work collaboratively with others. It is a partnership project with BrightSparks and is funded by the Henry Smith charity. Both groups are run at Fearon Hall.

Alisons exhibition will be open during Museum Cafe opening hours until August. For more details about the exhibition or about Charnwood Arts groups please email project coordinator Jemma Bagley: [email protected]
